Zoning Board

The Board of Appeals hears and decides appeals from an order or determination by the code enforcement officer. Where practical difficulties or hardships arise, the ZBA, after public notice and hearing, may vary or modify the application of zoning regulations, so long as the spirit of the code, public safety and welfare, and substantial justice is maintained. Such variances may take the form of a Use Variance, an Area Variance, or approval of a change from a nonconforming use to another nonconforming use of the same or more restricted use.

The ZBA may also be called upon directly to interpret provisions of the zoning code.

The Zoning Board of Appeals meets on the fourth Monday of each month. The meeting starts at 7:00 with a workshop followed by the regular meeting at 7:15.
